Naantali Spa
Naantali Spa is one of Finland’s most popular spa destinations. In spring 2026, five new experiential saunas were completed, alongside the refurbishment of changing areas and shower facilities. Together, these updates form a seamless spa experience, offering guests a refreshed and contemporary environment.
Shaw designed the renewal in close collaboration with the operational team, ensuring the spaces responded to both practical needs and the desired guest experience. The design process placed strong emphasis on functionality, user‑centred planning, and experiential quality. Shaw’s commission covered the full design process, from initial concept through to detailed implementation across all areas.

The spaces are conceived as an experiential journey through different atmospheres. A harmonious colour palette and layered design language create a unified, calm, and cohesive spa experience.
With five distinct sauna experiences, users move between atmospheres—from a darker sauna with a smoked‑sauna character, to a salt sauna designed for gentle exfoliation, and on to more traditional saunas. In each space, carefully selected materials enhance warmth, texture, and a sense of calm, supporting wellbeing while defining the character of each environment.
